When we lived in Central Virginia – going to Central Park FunLand in Fredericksburg, VA was our favorite place to take the kids. I figured since we were going up for the weekend, it would be the perfect place to take the kids for Jr’s 9th birthday bash.
Fun Land was established in 1997, one of the first entertainment venues in the Central Park shopping complex, now part of Celebrate Virginia. Occupying over 7 acres, Fun Land featured outdoor rides and attractions such as mini golf, go-karts and batting cages during it’s first season of operation. Soon after, the 40,000 square foot indoor facility was added, making Fun Land Virginia’s Premier Indoor and Outdoor Family Fun Center.
Today in our 19th year of continual operation, Fun Land annually hosts well over 100,000 guests. In 2013, we brought our Kiddie Ferris Wheel indoors and added Spinning Tea Cups next to our Play Zone kids indoor play park. Outdoors, we added three new thrill rides (the Rock O Plane, Round Up, and Scrambler), as well as upgraded our Bumper Boats.
Fun Land is open 364 days per year, and serves the Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland and Central Virginia region. Fun Land specializes in kid’s birthday parties, school field trips, church groups, and interactive family fun. For Rides, Games, Food, and Fun, it’s Fun Land!
Before checking out Central Park FunLand, I suggest you check out groupons.com. The deal is for $40 worth of tokens for games and rides. Also make sure you have Piggy & Ebates activated. Both give you a % cash back earned. You can activate either for Groupon, really which has the better deal. I used ebates which had a 6% cash back. There’s also a Chrome extension that’s called “coupons at checkout”. It finds coupons all over the internet to use at checkout. Saved an extra 10% which got me the groupon deal for cheaper.
I shared the deal with my two sisters who also brought their kids for fun with the kids. The cool part about FunLand is the cards that you can add more money on. Instead of hauling around tickets you won and tokens. You have a ticket with a bar-code you scan each time. Then there’s a QR code you can scan with your phone and tells you how many tickets & how much money you have total.
They had a weekend deal going for Unlimited Rides & Attractions Wristbands are $32.99 on Friday after 5pm and Saturday & Sunday. So I got that for the older 3 kids, Hailey, Halley (Hailey’s friend from VA) & Jr. You had to be a certain height for the rides on the inside. So I kept the ticket with the $40 for the younger kids. As long as the kids ride roughly 5-6 rides on the inside, they can get their money’s worth. Actually it’s not unlimited, it just last for 12 hours, lol. But still, you get your money’s worth from that alone.
There’s also a HUGE playground area with slides and the whole 9 yards, the little ones loved that area the most. They all slept amazing that night, lol. They have an option where you can get tokens in $5 & $10 worth off your card. You’re able to use it on some of the games. The quick ticket games, where you put in the token and aim for the slots. We used about $15 of tokens and got roughly 600 tickets that way. Each child was able to pick something out. While the prizes weren’t as great, over a the kids had a blast like they always do. If you’re ever in the Fredericksburg, VA area, it’s totally worth checking out!
Oh wow this place looks like a whole lot of fun. My husband is from Virginia so I will have to ask him if he’s ever been.
