5 Country Songs For The Brokenhearted

Aug. 23, 2014 / Entertainment

I honestly thought we were in the clear, I thought that we just got over a big bump in the road. Well, goes to show I was wrong. It’s been one week and I am broken, like completely broken. I thought I was broken before. I gave it my all, but my all wasn’t enough. I was fighting alone in a battle for my marriage with someone who already gave up on so much. One day, I will be able to look back on this and learn something from it at one point. But right now, I am going to share 5 country songs that help me get over a broken heart.

5 Sad Country Songs For The Brokenhearted

I wish I was like my husband, I wish I could have a switch where I can just turn off and on my feelings. Must be something he learned from the military, but I can’t I show my feelings and I am heartbroken. I think to myself, what could I of done differently to keep my husband. I have more questions than answers at this point ▬ one day it will make sense. When I first got married when I was 21, I thought I married ‘THE ONE’ and I thought we would grow old together. I gotta be strong for my kids, I gotta do it for them. I gotta teach them how you can’t give up with life throws you some hard things, you have to keep going and not give up. Music has always been a way I could really connect to how I really feel. These videos really play for the brokenhearted. I can’t make it through most of them without crying, because like I stated before, the feeling is still there. I hate it, but it is what it is. Life goes on, so they say.

Sugarland – Stay

Sara Evans – A Little Bit Stronger

Rascle Flatts – What Hurts The Most

Kelly Clarkson – Because of You

Luke Bryan – Do I

Love those picks, but the Kelly Clarkson one is my favorite. Music can definitely work wonders on our souls.

I too love music and the “What hurts the most” song by Rascal Flatts has definitely been played over and over in the past when my ex husband and I split up. It was tough, I was with him for 7 years but just like you I had 4 kids to think about and after everything he put me through I moved on. It took a long time for me but here I am now. Sorry your going through this…

I felt the same way after I had been with someone over 5 years. Like you, music helped ease the hurt. One of my favorite cheesy songs that helped get me through was Here I Go Again by Whitesnake.

The only song I’ve heard here is Kelly Clarkson’s Because of you. This kind of song will let the broken-heart realize how he love that person who made him stronger or happy everyday!

Gonna admit, getting over a broken heart is hard. It’s even harder when you have children. It’s ok to cry. I’ve been through it all like most have. Specially when you spent almost a decade with someone. The best advice, pick yourself up sista, those babies need you. Keep active and join groups with moms going through the same. Have some alone time if you can and enjoy life because you can 🙂

Great piece… I love music flashbacks. I miss a good Kelly Clarkson song. Her pieces were sung great, and had great meanings behind them.

7 1/2 years and he’s moved on after a week? :/ I understand how you are feeling. Those are all very good go-to songs after a break up.

These are some real downers! I think I’ll go listen to some rock n’ roll to lift my spirits. I think if anyone is broken hearted they should listen to some up songs not these kind I think it would make you cry all the more, and besides life goes on. Try and think beyond the broken heart.

I’m a guy, but I’m not gonna lie. Every time I watch stay, I cry like a little girl. I got teary eyed just seeing the Youtube link. Oh, Jennifer Nettles, who hurt you?

Sorry about your split up Natalie. It’s really rough when you have kids. I love all the songs you picked to help you get through it. I love all of the them, but the Sugarland song always gets to me. Take care of yourself Natalie.

if you are trying to move on, you shouldn’t be drowning yourself with these sad songs. go listen to something that is pop and alternative so you wouldn’t feel too much pain.

within the first week, it’s allowed.. you’re allowed to be sad, but after that week, you’re also allowed to move on.. not everyone handles things the same way..

It is interesting, these are great songs but I really could never listen to them even if I was upset. I usually listen to upbeat music or no music at all, but it all depends upon my mood.
