New Series Brings the Stories of Genesis to Life + FREEBIES

If you’ve been looking for something meaningful to watch this spring, I’ve got good news. The stories of Genesis are hitting the screen in a whole new way, and honestly? I think you’re going to love it.

We’re talking about The Faithful: Women of the Bible, a three-week biblical event series premiering Sunday, March 22 on FOX. It’s one of those shows that feels like it was made for watching together—whether that’s with your family, a small group, or just curled up on the couch with a cup of tea.

What’s It About?

The series brings the stories of Genesis to life through the eyes of five women whose lives were woven into God’s unfolding plan. We’re talking about Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel. You might know their names, but this series digs into the deeply human side of their journeys—the waiting, the brokenness, the trust, and the redemption.

And the cast? Amazing. Minnie Driver plays Sarah, Natacha Karam is Hagar, and Jeffrey Donovan is part of the lineup too. They filmed on location in Rome and Matera, Italy, so you know it’s going to be gorgeous.

But what I love most is the heart behind it. These weren’t perfect people. They wrestled with fear, made messy choices, and sometimes struggled to hold onto hope. And yet, God worked through all of it. Their stories remind us that God uses imperfect people to accomplish something far bigger than any one life.

Meet the Women

Just to give you a little preview:

  • Sarah (Minnie Driver): Learning to trust God’s promises even when hope feels impossible.
  • Hagar (Natacha Karam): Discovering that God sees and cares for the forgotten.
  • Rebekah (Alexa Davalos): Wrestling with family, purpose, and the consequences of her choices.
  • Leah (Millie Brady) & Rachel (Blu Hunt): Two sisters navigating love, identity, and the complexities of God’s blessing.

Each one has a story that hits close to home. I think you’ll see a little bit of yourself in at least one of them.

Free Printables: Color, Reflect, and Carry Their Stories With You

Okay, here’s something fun.

To go along with the series, I put together a free printable set inspired by these five women. It includes four quote coloring cards (4″ x 6″) —perfect for framing or displaying somewhere you’ll see them every day—plus four coordinating bookmarks to tuck into your Bible or favorite book.

Each design features a quote tied to one of the women’s journeys. Things like “Trust God’s promises—even when hope feels impossible” for Sarah, and “God sees. God cares. You are not forgotten” for Hagar. They’re simple, meditative, and meant to give you a creative way to reflect on what you’re watching.

Whether you’re coloring on your own or gathering with a small group, these printables make for a laid-back, meaningful activity. Just print, color, cut, and let the words sink in.

A Few Ideas for Watching Together

If you’re thinking about watching with a small group or family, here are a few simple ideas:

  • Watch each episode together, then spend a few minutes talking about which woman’s story resonated most.
  • Use the coloring printables as a conversation starter. Color while you chat—it takes the pressure off and lets the conversation flow naturally.
  • Ask one question: Where have you seen God’s faithfulness in your own waiting, like Sarah? or When have you needed to know that God sees you, like Hagar?

The stories of Genesis have been told for thousands of years, but there’s something special about experiencing them in community. These women’s lives remind us that God is faithful across generations—and that includes ours.

I don’t know about you, but I’m really looking forward to this one. There’s something about seeing these ancient stories brought to life that makes them feel fresh and new. And with the printables, it’s a chance to slow down, reflect, and carry a little piece of their journey with you.

So grab your coloring supplies, gather some friends, and tune in March 22.

I think you’ll be glad you did.

Download your free printables [here] and let me know which woman’s story speaks to you most. I’d love to hear.
