New year, new beginnings. We all have this set goal in life to be happy. It sounds simple enough, until something tragic happens in your life and leaves you broken on the floor. Everyone is different, sometimes it takes longer for some to pick themselves off the floor than others. I like to take each day one at a time, I don’t like to be rushed, I don’t like to feel panicked. I want things to happen on my time. Be patient.
For 2017, I want to find strength not stress over things I can’t control. Since separating and later divorcing my husband of 8 years. I found out that things happen for a reason. I can’t stress over the what ifs and the reasons why we’re no longer together, but move on from it. For 2016 the word was changes, I had a lot of changes, both good and bad. I had to let people go, habits go and replace them with good ones. For 2015 the word was faith. I needed to find Jesus again, because I lost him while I was broken and alone. The thing about feeling alone, is you’re not really alone, God is always with you.
I am a firm believer of what life throws at you, it can break you or you can overcome it. Today, I close the door to the past, open the door to the future, take a deep breathe, step on through and start a new chapter in my life. Since my divorce, I swore up and down that I was get my life together, but last year was a year of lessons. I tend to believe some people come into your life as lessons.
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you’ll know exactly what to do – Michelle Ventor
It’s been kinda hard putting this blog post together. I started it, drafted it, deleted it and restarted it. I’m a to-do list kind of person. If you could see my laptop, I have sticky notes for all type of things. I have my blog to-do list, I have a list called, “get your life together..” and my Etsy shop to-do list. These are more like goals for myself. I have a struggle once I start something, I will lose motivation if I have self doubt about whatever the thing is. It’s something, I’ve been working on. I tend to put things off until right before they’re due.
So for 2017, I want to take all the things I’ve learned about myself over the last few years. I want to stop being afraid of the what ifs and go out into the world and make myself something beautiful. I want my kids to look up to me and be inspired to never give up. That sometimes, we go through bad things and good things will come after them. Everything may not go in the order I would like them to, but it will all work out in the end.
“No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!”

I plan on working on my home life, so that Hailey & I will be able to get our own place. Then later down the road, fight for Jr, Hannah & Jacob to be under the same roof with Hailey & I again. I want to apply for school online, I want to go back to school, something I should of done years ago, but never did. I want to be able to inspire people through blogging, graphics and people I meet daily. Lastly, I want to grow this walk with Jesus I have. Over the last few years, I’ve better my life so much, knowing that God was always there and always will be.

I tend to have monthly goals for myself, so I don’t feel like there’s no chance in getting any of them done. Small goals have a better chance of them actually getting done. If you get a free chance, go check out my goals/bucket list for 2017, here.
What new beginnings are you looking forward to in 2017?
Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. Every 2 weeks a group of bloggers is given a writing prompt. These prompts are very open ended, so our bloggers can write about whatever they desire. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.
Please hop along and read all of the blog posts in this weeks hop. Just click the links below. If you want real and raw emotion, then you will find it here. After you read each post, please comment and share. We want to get to know you too!

Every day can be a new beginning if we let it. You can do it and with God on your side nothing is impossible. Love the scripture from Romans.
2017 is a great time for new beginnings!
I love the thought of a new beginning. I enjoyed the post, especially the nice photos. Thanks so much for sharing.
New beginnings…new chapters…and a new book. Great quotes. I am looking forward to doing some home improvements…well, getting them done really.

This is a beautiful concept, and you bring a great way of looking at it. It may take time to pick yourself back up but whether five minutes, five months, five years, or more… you can do it. Thinking of it as a new beginning really is a good outlook on life. Congratulations on all you’ve done.
