It’s about that time for “New Year, New Me” Resolutions. Well let’s kick off 2018 with this Money Saving Challenge. This is the easiest money saving guide I’ve seen and it’s so easy to do, just need to stay committed.
Earnest helps you build a brighter future by lowering interest rates and helping you manage your money more effectively so that you’re not paying more than you need to. Student loans can be a large portion of debt for many people these days, and many are unaware that there are options out there to help, which is really how we connect to the topic!

After reading the money saving challenge above, made me think about all the money I’ve spent and wasted over the past year. I know going into 2018, my biggest goal is to cut back of wasteful spending of money throughout the year and set personal goals for myself for money saving.
These apps work with phones, tablets & computers. I know have all of them and use them monthly. I’ve saved lots of money and earned a good penny in cash back. I have a few blog posts on these topics: Chrome Extensions Apps, these apps & those apps.
Focus on Money Saving in 2018
- Set aside $50 each paycheck or $100 each month from my paycheck. Before paying any bills, set aside some cash or even after paying bills, before blowing it on useless things. I need to really build my savings account, so I’m not struggling to live paycheck to paycheck.
- Collect all of my medical bills together and PAY THEM OFF! Yea, seems easy right, try not having insurance for two years, they kinda add up. I need to contact each place and set up a plan to pay off at least like $5-$10. Something is better than nothing, sometimes they even work with you. Doesn’t hurt until you try!
- Do you know how hard it is to build credit without credit? It’s the real struggle. I had credit back in 2006, then never did anything until now. It looks horrible for the credit. I’ve also NEVER owned a credit card, which I think is a good thing. So I started small and got a Kohl’s charge card with a small spending limit, starting small.
With these simple tasks, I really think I am going to do better than I have in the past. It also helps to have a steady good paying job, which also I haven’t had in awhile either. So it’s a win-win all around.
What are some money saving goals you have for 2018?

Wow, I like this. I think part of the problem with getting people to save is letting them know where to start. I’m going to share this with some friends who are working on reducing debt this year.

I really don’t have any savings goals since I am fairly comfortable (though I wouldn’t say wealthy). I think that many people are just so caught up in today that they don’t think about saving for tomorrow.

I have started back up couponing to get my stock pile back up. It helps so much it is crazy. I used to be into it but stopped for like the last 6 months of 2017 and now looking back at my grocery bills its crazy.
