Coming from someone who used to live 10 minutes from the North Carolina Beaches, beach life is where it’s at. Now if you looked at me, you’re like. Natalie, if you lived near a beach why are you so white? Hey let’s stay on topic. Well the plans for Friday changed like 5 times, while my other plans fell through, my friend Krissy and I had another epic road trip. This time we didn’t leave our state, we went to the beach, North Topsail Island, NC to be exact.
It’s the only beach on the East coast I’ve ever been to at that. A lot of my mom’s family lives near by and it’s just the one I always went to as a kid. Since it was only a day trip, I packed a small bag and made sure to grab my amazing Roman glasses from Sunglass Warehouse. Now if you know me, I’m always wearing sunglasses, as my eyes are super sensitive to the sun, why? I don’t know they just are.
First place we stopped at was the gift shop called, Shark Attack located in Sneads Ferry, NC. Now way back when it was first built, they actually had a tank in the shop that had a live shark, as a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever. They were having an end of season sale before all the new stuff for summer of 2017. I got a few gifts for my family & Topsail Island shirts for the kids. That place always has the coolest things and still does to this day. The best thing about this place, the entrance is walking through a shark’s mouth. So awesome, always picture worthy!
Then we went to Fat Burgers in Sneads Ferry, NC. We needed to eat something before going to the beach, what better than a big juicy burger and some waffle fries. They were pretty amazing, though it took longer to get the burgers than we actually took eating them and it was slow to. Doesn’t help when we both work in restaurants, so we know, you know. Anyways, food was good.
We finally got to North Topsail Beach, NC. Since we went on Friday afternoon it was roughly 90 degrees that day, thinking the water would be a little warm. Boy were we wrong, the water was pretty darn cold. We stood in it, maybe to my knees, I couldn’t take more than that. There wasn’t a lot of people there. Not like when we went on Monday when the beach was PACKED and the water was warmer. It made for great pictures though.
We paid $1 to walk out on to the pier at SeaView Fishing Pier. So you’re also able to go fishing on this pier, but to just walk out it’s $1. We will have to go back sometime and actually go fishing on there, it looks pretty relaxing to say the least. There was a telescope that takes 50 cents to view. But I didn’t need 50 cents, the picture above is priceless.
My friend is a teacher down in Jacksonville, NC. So while we killed time at the beach we waited for him to get done with school so we could hangout for a few before heading back home. We went up to his house and that’s when we got the bright idea that we were going to get a tattoo while in town. So we looked up and went to the closes place to his house, which was Odyssey Tattoo. I sat on my pinterest tattoo album for a good 30 minutes before I decided which I actually wanted to pay for. Went with the “think positive” tattoo, simple yet to the point. It was done in all of like 15 minutes tops maybe. It didn’t hurt at all. I told them, we will be making trips to Jacksonville just for tattoos now because they awesome. If you’re ever in town and need one, go there.
After getting the tattoo, we were gonna go eat all together then head back home. We decided on Texas Roadhouse and it was amazing. We order these sweet drinks to end a really awesome day with awesome friends. The road trip back home was crazy within itself as well, we blew a tire coming back on i40 and had to change a tire.
I couldn’t of done this trip without my Roman glasses from Sunglass Warehouse. Don’t forgot to go get a pair or two for those awesome prices. I’m thinking of getting a few more myself. Shop now & save with code: SAVE15 for 15% off any pair!
