Start Your Day with Quaker Steel Cut & Protein 10!

Being a mom of four crazy kids who are always on the go, having a simple fast breakfast yet it still being healthy can be frustrating. So that’s when I normally turn to Quaker. When we got a box of Steel Cut Blueberries & Cranberries and a Protein 10 Cranberries & Almonds, I knew the kids were gonna be excited for breakfast. When we’re not in a rush, I like to throw some fresh fruits or honey into my oatmeal for some extra yummies and it’s nice to get all those healthy foods in within one meal. Quaker oatmeal is a good source of calcium, iron and 6 other essential vitamins and minerals.

Quaker has always been my go to brand for oatmeal, the favors are always amazing and there’s so many flavors to pick from. So we went to our local store, which is really only one store when it comes to living in Orange, lol. We have ONE store, a food lion, now there’s a few other stores, but the one food lion is the only “grocery” store. Anyhow, I love to hit up Food Lion when they have their Quaker products 2 for $4.

BzzAgent provided us with a box of Steel Cut Blueberries & Cranberries and a Protein 10 Cranberries & Almonds. Between the two, we all enjoyed the Protein 10 more. The Steel Cut was so processed you couldn’t tell it was even oatmeal. I like my oatmeal to actually you know, look like OATS, lol. That are steel cut to give the oatmeal a heartier texture and nuttier taste that comes in Blueberries & Cranberries and Brown Sugar & Cinnamon. The flavor just wasn’t there for me and the dried blueberries and cranberries was like eating rocks. I don’t know about you, but I can’t eat rocks. So that was a bust.

However the Protein 10 cranberries & almonds was out of this world. The flavor was amazing, for how much protein was in it, it didn’t taste healthy, it tasted simply delicious! Which makes me want to eat more! The kids aren’t even fans of almonds or cranberries and they were left wanting more. So I like to say that’s a win in my book. They also have a banana nut in the protein 10, it was average, but of the two, I found more flavor in the cranberries & almonds.

They say 1 packet is enough for one serving, but I’ve always done 1 packet for the younger two, the older two eat 2 packets, I sometimes do 3 packets, lol. The older two normally have a bowl of Quaker oatmeal before school everyday. Knowing that my kids have a healthy breakfast which keeps them full until lunch time, makes for one happy mama!
