4 Reasons PokémonGo Rocks | #TeamMystic

I want to be the very best, like no one ever was..  Yep, I went there, now you’re singing the song aren’t you? Ha! you’re welcome. Now that we got the theme song out of the way. PokémonGo is the new thing, you’re either for or against it. There’s no in between. Why people hate it, I have no idea. We grew up on the shows, the trading cards, everything Pokémon. I for one love this app and I support it, even with all the negativity around it over the last week. What team are you? I am #TeamMystic 🙂

4 Reasons PokémonGo Rocks | #TeamMystic

#1 Get to sight see around town.

The app uses your phone’s camera to overlay the Pokémon on your screen with the AR settings. It also taps into your GPS and position sensors to alert you when you’re near a Pokemon, gym & pokéstops, which are normally interesting historical landmarks around your town. I’ve only been downtown Graham, but it’s great for historical landmarks and local businesses.

#2 Get to make new friends.

People who are normally inside or are home bodies, you got them going out alone or with friends and while out at pokéstops or gyms, you’re meeting new people. Last Thursday after work, we went to downtown Graham and we ran into old friends, we haven’t seen in a few months. My sister’s one job is a pokéstop & a gym, so she gets more action in the game than I do, lol. But she has gone out and met new people. We went through the Sheetz drive-thru and the guy told us about two facebook groups for PokémonGo users in our county & #TeamMystic in NC. I’ve joked with my sister, we might meet our next boyfriend thanks to PokémonGo, who needs Tinder. haha

#3 Get to exercise. YAY!

While I do enjoy working out or going to a gym (a real gym, lol). I love going on walks, but now I have something to do on said walks. The first weekend, I did 6 miles, haha. I wouldn’t normally do 6 miles for the hell of it. I like it, because it gets you outside the house. Well minus during the days in NC, it’s stinkin’ hot outside. But I may or may not of walked outside around the neighborhood at 3 in the morning to catch a rare Pokémon! #noshame

#4 Save your battery & invest in portable charger

When you look into the settings there’s a battery setting, turn it on. I always make sure all other apps are closed and if you turn off the AR setting, it helps as well. If you plan on being outside for a long period of time, investing in a portable charger would be smart too. You can get them at most stores. I have a few of them. I got a solar powered one, so it charges while I’m out and charges the phone.

With that said, don’t go into someone’s house, yard you don’t know. Don’t walk into traffic, don’t stop your car on a busy road to catch a Pokemon, don’t walk into a busy road and just stand there. Watch where you’re going. I mean, there’s plenty of stories of people being stupid and getting into accidents or hurting themselves. But I mean don’t blame a game for stupidity things you could of prevented to start with. Honestly I put like 10 things in the “common sense” section. But I mean be safe, make smart choices and don’t forget to catch ’em all. Most of all, have fun! Who cares how old or young you are. If the game isn’t for you, delete it. Don’t sit here and make jokes on other people. Who cares. Move on with your life. Let the bitter people be bitter with no Pokémon! haha!

Don’t be rude in comments, I will remove your comment. No reason to be rude, simply don’t comment. It’s simple really!

I personally don’t play Pokemon Go and doubt that I will. However, three of my teen kids play it and I love how they’re getting outside and even spending time together because of it. Of course there’s cons to the app but I think it’s generally a very good thing.

I neither love nor hate Pokemon Go. I’ve sure heard about it lately, but have never played it…maybe that’s because I’m a Grandma 🙂

Personally I don’t play (I only own a “normal” cell phone and couldn’t anyway), but I think as long as people have fun and stay safe, why not? Plus, it beats the sitting in front of a computer screen for hours playing a game as you get fresh air and exercise.

My phone is too old for the game and I think the fact I kind of want to play is finally pushing me into buying a new one… Hopefully it’ll be worth it for pushing me to go outside and walk.

I honestly think this game is a waste of time and money. I know that some people will disagree and so that is fine we can agree to disagree. However, I am old school when it comes to family fun.
